Member Spotlight

  • Mike Jones
  • SIM Wisconsin
  • Corporate VP and CIO of Children's Hospital and Health Systems in Milwaukee

Mike has been a member of SIM since 1991 and currently serves as the VP of Vendor & Service Provider Programs on SIM's Executive Board.

When Mike moved to Wisconsin in 1996, he got involved with another IT-related non-profit organization called AbilITy Connection. AbilITy Connection is a program of Goodwill industries which works with the Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) to place people with disabiities in IT jobs. This program provides opportunities for individuals who display an aptitude for IT, but have no previous experience in the industry.

Currently, 48 companies participate in this program; providing mentoring, coaching, and job positions for the AbilITy Connection participants. Each participant in the program is assigned a mentor who helps them through the process and coaches them into the IT field. Financial assistance is also available to qualified students to help pay IT educational costs.

Somehow Mike finds the time to serve on the Board of this organization, too.
