Link to International Knapweed Symposium.International Knapweed Symposium - Coeur d’Alene, Idaho - The symposium was held at the Coeur d’Alene Resort in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, March 15th and 16th, 2001, in conjunction with the annual WSWS meeting.  The purpose of the symposium was to present new information on the biology, ecology, and management of Centaurea (sensu latu) species in the West (including spotted, diffuse, squarrose and Russian knapweed and yellow starthistle).  The Symposium was sponsored by the Western Society of Weed Science, in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, USDA Agriculture Research Service, University of Idaho, Western Weed Coordinating Committee, the Idaho Department of Agriculture, DowAgrosciences, and the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program.


 

Link to X International Symposium.X International Symposium - Bozeman, Montana - The X International Symposium on Biological Control of Weeds was held in Bozeman, Montana, July 4-9, 1999.  This symposium was the next in a series of premier world meetings for scientists interested in the biological control of weeds. The symposia are held approximately every four years and cover all aspects of the theory and practice of biological weed control. Previous meetings were held in South Africa in 1996 and New Zealand in 1992.

Link to 5th International Safflower Conference.5th International Safflower Conference - Williston, North Dakota & Sidney, Montana - The Vth International Safflower Conference was held jointly in Williston, North Dakota and Sidney, Montana, July 23-27, 2001.  This conference was the fifth in a series of premier world meetings of scientists and industry personnel interested in all aspects of safflower - production, research and development, processing, and marketing. The conference is held approximately every four years. Previous Conferences were held in Davis, California (1981); Hyderabad, India (1989); Beijing, China (1993); and Bari, Italy (1997).  This 2001 conference was co-sponsored by North Dakota State University, Montana State University, Unites States Department of Agriculture/Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS), the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, Soil Science Society of America, and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
