SECTION C: PAST ACHIEVEMENTS

First Achievement

1a.
Waste

1b.
Non-hazardous waste generation

1c.

recycled and composted materials

1d.

Over the last few years, we have implemented a series of programs that have dramatically increased the percentage of total waste that is recycled or composted. The percentage increased from 7.6% to 38.9%. This was due to the implementation of our recycling program to include organic waste, cardboard, steel and aluminum, paper, tin ,#1 and #2 plastics, etc. Elimination of styrofoam products. Reduction of plastic disposal by converting to bulk purchasing of condiment containers. Recycling bins and dumpsters were purchased for normal and organic recycling. Environmental table tents were purchased and placed in all guest rooms. All employees attend a new hire orientation which includes our environmental commitments. Have professional training/re-training every six months from the City of Plano for all employees. Housekeeping employees trained specifically on sorting recycling materials from guest rooms. Banquet employees trained specifically on sorting recyclables from meeting facilities. Continued employee education through periodic payroll attachments.
