   kNearest The kNearest Neighbor (v1.00.01) software is a soil hydraulic pedotransfer function tool for the estimation of soil water retention using the k-nearest neighbor approach. This program has been developed by Attila Nemes and R. Roberts at the USDA-ARS Hydrology and Remote Sensing Laboratory (HRSL), Beltsville, MD, and is the result of collaboration between USDA-ARS HRSL (Walter J. Rawls); the University of California Riverside, Riverside, CA ; The USDA-ARS George E. Brown Jr. Salinity Laboratory, Riverside, CA (Martinus T. van Genuchten); and the USDA-ARS Environmental Microbial Safety Laboratory (EMSL), Beltsville, MD (Yakov A. Pachepsky).  As this product is the result of an ongoing research effort, improvements and accompanying updates to the software are anticipated.
  WinSRM

The Snowmelt-Runoff Model, WinSRM (v1.11) is designed to simulate and forecast daily streamflow in mountain basins where snowmelt is a major runoff factor. Most recently, it has also been applied to evaluate the effect of a changed climate on seasonal snow cover and runoff.  WinSRM was developed by J. Martinec, Consulting Hydrologist, Davos, Switzerland, A. Rango , Research Hydrologist, USDA-ARS, Jornada Experimental Range, Las Cruces, NM, and R. Roberts , Computer Specialist, USDA-ARS, Hydrology & Remote Sensing Lab, Beltsville, MD.  An earlier version of SRM (DOS 4.06), and related documentation may be downloaded the original SRM web site.

  WinTR-55

WinTR-55 (v1.08) is a single-event rainfall-runoff small watershed hydrologic model.  The model generates hydrographs from both urban and agricultural areas and at selected points along the stream system. Hydrographs are routed downstream through channels and/or reservoirs. Multiple sub-areas can be modeled within the watershed.  This program was developed for USDA, National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) in a joint effort by personnel from NRCS and the Hydrology & Remote Sensing Laboratory.  The software and additional reference material are also available that the NRCS web site, http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/hydro/hydro-tools-models-wintr55.html .

  WinSAIL

WinSAIL (v1.00.04) is a Windows version of the SAIL model.  It predicts the canopy reflectance at a number of different sensor view angles in a user-defined relative azimuth plane (i.e., in a given direction relative to that of the sun). The software also allows you to vary the solar zenith angle, the Leaf Area Index (the area of leaves per unit area of ground) and the reflectance and transmittance of the vegetation in four separate wavebands, as well as the reflectance of the soil substrate and the proportion of sky radiance in these bands. Finally, for advanced use, the software allows you to vary the leaf inclination angle distribution (i.e., the geometric structure of the vegetation canopy).  WinSAIL developers are E.R. Hunt , Research Physical Scientist, and R. Roberts , Computer Specialist. 

  SPAW SPAW (v6.02.75) is a daily hydrologic budget model for agricultural fields and ponds (wetlands, lagoons, ponds and reservoirs). Included are irrigation scheduling and soil nitrogen. Data input and results are graphical screens.  SPAW was developed by Dr. Keith Saxton , USDA-ARS (retired).  Included in this download is the Soil Water Characteristics Hydraulic Properties Calculator, a graphical program developed by Saxton and Walter Rawls for estimating soil water tension, conductivity and water holding capability based on soil texture, organic matter, gravel content, salinity, and compaction.  SPAW and the Soil Water Characteristics Hydraulic Properties Calculator are bundled in a single installation file.  The installation program allows the user to choose whether to install SPAW, the calculator, or both.
