She has a bachelor's of science degree in communications and public relations from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. She holds a master's of science degree in integrated marketing from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. She also holds the American Marketing Association designation of Professional Certified Marketer. Prior to Ms. Henry’s employment with GSA she was a manager in a mid-size manufacturing company for nine years. Nationwide, FAS's annual sales of $56 billion account for more than one-sixth of the entire federal procurement budget. The new FAS organization was established by H.R. 2066, the General Services Administration Modernization Act, and signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2006. FAS carries out GSA’s mission, which in part manages acquisition programs that include information technology; telecommunications; furniture; tools; office products and supply items, and all travel, motor vehicles, and credit card services, for other federal agencies, thus allowing them to focus on their core missions.
