Agricultural Chemicals in Ground Water -- Plains, GeorgiaField-scale research was conducted at a 2-acre research plot near Plains, Georgia. The objectives of the research were to characterize the fate and transport of agricultural chemicals in the unsaturated zone and in ground water and to test the hypothesis that lateral transport occurs in the unsaturated zone. This interdisciplinary study was conducted cooperatively with the Agricultural Research Service (U.S. Department of Agriculture), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Tracer studies were used to verify chemical transport and to test farm management models. More Information
