Carolina Creosoting Corporation Site; Notice of Proposed 
Settlement

AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency.

ACTION: Notice; request for public comment.

SUMMARY: Under section 122(g) of the Comprehensive Environmental 
Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, the United States 
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has entered into an 
Administrative Order on Consent (AOC) to settle claims for past 
response cost at the Carolina Creosoting Site located in Leland, North 
Carolina.
    The Agency will consider all comments received and may modify or 
withdraw its consent to the settlement if comments received disclose 
facts or considerations which indicate that the settlement is 
inappropriate, improper, or inadequate.
    Copies of the proposed settlement are available from: Attn: Paula 
V. Batchelor, Waste Management Division, U.S. EPA, Region 4, 61 
Forsythe Street SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30303, (404) 562-8887.
    Written comments may be submitted to Ms. Batchelor within 30 
calendar days of the date of publication.
