Advisory Council; Notice of Meeting

    In accordance with section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory 
Committee Act (Public Law 92-463), announcement is made of the 
following National Advisory body scheduled to meet during the month of 
October 1999.

    Name: National Advisory Council on the National Health Service 
Corps (NHSC).
    Date and Time:

    October 7, 1999; 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
    October 8-9, 1999; 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
    October 10, 1999; 7:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

    Place: Alexis Park Hotel, 375 East Harmon Avenue, Las Vegas, 
Nevada 89109, Phone: (702) 796-3300.
    The meeting is open to the public.
    Agenda: Items will include updates on the NHSC and Scholarships 
and Loan Repayments program; Health Professional Shortage Areas 
(HPSA) designations; reports from the San Francisco field office, 
State Primary Care Association, and State Primary Care Office. In 
preparation for the year 2000 reauthorization, the Council will 
discuss the distribution of their position paper ``The National 
Health Service Corps for the 21st Century.'' On Friday, October 8 
through Sunday, October 10, the Council will attend parts of the 
NHSC Orientation Conference and interact with new scholars and loan 
repayers.
