Changes for 2007 Economic Census
Good news! Not much has changed since 2002. However, we have made several improvements that should make filing easier, including:
- Electronic reporting is easier:
Over the past 5 years we have incorporated many features requested by companies into our Surveyor software. Please visit our Electronic Reporting page for more information.
- More relevant content:
Items related to Leased Employment, Supply Chain, and E-Commerce were deleted. Inquiries on franchising, outsourcing, and health and pension benefit expenses were added to selected forms to better measure changing business characteristics.
- More standardized product detail:
The following industries will report sales lines and revenue sources according to the new North American Product Classification System (NAPCS):
- Sector 48-49, Transportation and Warehousing |
- Sector 51, Information |
- Sector 52, Finance and Insurance |
- Sector 53, Real Estate and Rental and Leasing |
- Sector 54, Professional, Scientific and Technical Services |
- Sector 55, Management of Company and Enterprises |
- Sector 56, Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services |
- Sector 61, Educational Services |
- Sector 62, Health Care and Social Assistance |
- Sector 71, Arts, Entertainment and Recreation |
- Sector 72, Accommodation and Food Services |
- Sector 81, Other Services |
This will allow us to produce product data that is comparable across industries.
