ACTION: Notice of receipt of applications. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing that it has received an application for a reference method determination from the DKK Corporation (Tokyo, Japan) for DKK Corporation's Model GFS-112E SO2 air monitoring method. Three applications have also been received by the EPA for equivalent method determinations from Environnement S. A. (Paris, France) for its SANOA open path monitoring methods for O3, SO2, and NO2. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Upon application and in accordance with regulations at 40 CFR Part 53, the EPA examines various methods for monitoring the concentrations of certain pollutants in the ambient air. Methods that are determined to meet specific requirements for adequacy are designated as either reference or equivalent methods, thereby permitting their use under 40 CFR Part 58 by States and other agencies for determining attainment of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards. As required by Part 53, this notice is to announce that EPA has received four applications to determine if four new continuous monitoring methods should be designated by the Administrator of the EPA as reference or equivalent methods under 40 CFR Part 53. An application from DKK Corporation, 4-13-14 Kichijoji Kitamachi, Musashino-shi, Tokyo, Japan was received on June 21, 1999, for a reference method determination for DKK Corporation's Model GFS-112E SO2 air monitoring analyzer. Applications from Environnement S. A., 111 Boulevard Robespierre, 78304 Poissy, France were received on February 17, 1999, June 28, 1999, and July 23, 1999, for equivalent method determinations for its SANOA Multigas Longpath Air Quality Monitoring System for monitoring O3, SO2, and NO2, respectively. If, after appropriate technical study, the Administrator determines that any or all of these methods should be designated as reference or equivalent methods, as appropriate, notice thereof will be published in a subsequent issue of the Federal Register.
