Take notice that on January 12, 1998, Central Vermont Public Service Corporation, tendered for filing a supplement amending its Rate Schedule FERC No. 135 (RS-2 Rate Schedule) for wholesale electric service to Connecticut Valley Electric Company Inc. The supplement adds a stranded cost exit fire fee provision to the RS-2 Rate Schedule as contemplated by the Commission's order dated December 18, 1997 in Docket No. ER97-3435-000. Central Vermont requests that the supplement to the RS-Rate Schedule be accepted for filing and made effective March 31, 1998, which is 60 days after filing. Central Vermont states that this filing has been posted and that copies have been served upon the affected customers and the regulatory commission of the States of New Hampshire and Vermont. Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with Rules 211 and 214 of the Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211 and 18 CFR 385.214). All such motions or protests should be filed on or before February 20, 1998. Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to the proceeding.
