Otosclerosis is the abnormal growth of bone of the inner ear causing hearing loss. This brochure explains hearing function and how otosclerosis interferes with it. It also explains the diagnosis and treatment of otosclerosis and what research is being done on this condition. This publication contains a list of information resources with more information on otosclerosis.
