The U.S. Department of Commerce today announced that ADCO Sales, Inc. (ADCO) of Woburn, Massachusetts agreed to pay a $2,000 civil penalty to settle charges that it exported optical sighting devices in violation of the Export Administration Regulations.
The Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) charged that, on four occasions between October 1998 and May 1999, ADCO exported these devices to Hong Kong, Switzerland, and Israel without the required export licenses.
Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement Julie L. Myers commended Special Agent Kate Donovan of BIS’s Boston Field Office and Special Agent Jonathan Carson of BIS’s New York Field Office for their efforts in this investigation.
