Primary Responsibilities/Activities:
The scientist directs research on aquatic invasive species (including: Asian carp, common carp, lamprey, zebra mussels, and rusty crayfish) that have been introduced into the Mississippi River system. The scientist is responsible for directing laboratory and field studies dealing with the life history, ecology, and control of invasive species. The scientist is responsible for planning research, submitting proposals for funding, conducting research, and managing the programs budget. The researcher directs activities regarding invasive species culture in the Center’s isolation and culture laboratories.
