Census Bureau to Hold Topping Off Ceremony for New Headquarters

   
What: U.S. Census Bureau and U.S. General Services Administration officials will be joined by federal and state dignitaries for a topping off ceremony marking the halfway point of completion of the new 1.5 million sq. ft. Census Bureau headquarters – scheduled to be finished Fall 2006. The milestone event will include the raising of the final steel beam into place on the new Census Bureau headquarters building.
   
When: Monday, July 18, 2005

  Directions:
By Automobile (from Virginia and Maryland): Take the Capital Beltway (Interstate 495) to exit 7B (Maryland Route 5 – Branch Avenue northbound); exit onto St. Barnabas Road North; turn right at Silver Hill Road; turn left at the main gate at traffic signal from Silver Hill Road; follow signs to the parking garage and topping off ceremony.
  By Metro: Take Green Line to Suitland Station; exit station and walk towards Suitland Federal Center; enter through security gate and follow boardwalk to shuttle bus stop; take shuttle bus to the parking garage and topping off ceremony.
