These data, including those for the Wichita, Kan., Metropolitan Statistical Area, will illustrate characteristics, such as education, language spoken at home, household income, poverty and travel time to work. The 700,000-household survey was conducted simultaneously with last year's census and was designed to test the operational feasibility of collecting long form-type data independently of a decennial census.
