Mississippi in Focus: Census Bureau Pre-Primary Snapshot

Mississippi, which holds its presidential primaries March 11, had a 2007 population of 2.9 million. The percentage of the state’s population that is black is about three times the national average, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics.
