Arizona in Focus: Census Bureau Pre-Primary Snapshot
About 64 percent of Arizona’s voting-age citizens cast a ballot in the 2004 general election, the same as the national rate.
As one of the 24 states holding “Super Tuesday” presidential primary and caucus sites on Feb. 5, Arizona’s 2007 population of 6.3 million includes a lower percentage of the non-Hispanic white-alone population than the nation as a whole, and a percentage of Hispanics that is approximately double the national rate, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics.
