60 YEARS OF DECENNIAL CENSUSES

Selected housing characteristics data from decennial census housing files are presented here for the United States and for each state. Trend analyses are discussed, with graphic illustration at the national level. While the time-period for many of the characteristics will cover 1940 to 2000, it will vary for others based on data collection or availability. These data were compiled from census housing reports and electronic data files.
