Patent Number: 6146641
Docket Number: 15598
Serial Number: 9160065
Date Patented: 11/14/2000
Technology Description: ARS scientists in East Lansing, Michigan have developed a test that detects antibodies to an important virus in chickens, avian leukosis virus subgroup J virus (ALV-J). ALV-J is important because it may cause cancer-like diseases and other production problems in chickens. This technology has been shown to be valuable in detecting exposure to or infection with ALV-J. Chicken breeders and growers will benefit the most from this technology; since it provides a way to ensure their flocks are free from the virus.
This technology is available for non-exclusive licensing.
