SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Purpose of the Meeting The major purposes of this meeting are to review the Panel report on the opportunities and requirements of a fusion energy sciences program, including the technical requirements of a fusion energy program; to discuss how to proceed with a program review; to review recommendations for maximizing effectiveness of international collaborations; to discuss the possibility of the U.S. hosting the 2004 International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) meeting; to hear presentations on the fusion programs at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL); and to visit the facilities at LLNL.
