Title: Flood Mitigation Assistance--Flood Mitigation Plan. Type of Information Collection: Reinstatement, with change of a previously approved collection for which approval has expired. OMB Number: 3067-0271. Abstract: A State and communities must have a FEMA approved plan before awarding project grant assistance to a community or State applicant. The planning requirement is to encourage communities and States to evaluate the flood hazard in their jurisdiction and devise a feasible strategy to reduce the impacts of flood hazards. Affected Public: State, Local or Tribal Government. Number of Respondents: 616. Estimated Time per Respondent: Development of New Flood Mitigation Plans: 440 hours. Modify, refine Flood Mitigation Plans from Existing Plans: 40 hours. Update Existing Flood Mitigation Plans and Forward to the State: 200 hours. State Reviews, Evaluations, and Coordinating Flood Mitigation Plans and forward to FEMA for Approval: 40 hours. Estimated Total Annual Burden Hours: 116,624. Frequency of Response: On Occasion.
