Agency Information Collection Activities: Submission for OMB 
Review; Comment Request

ACTION: Notice and request for comments.

SUMMARY: The Federal Emergency Management Agency has submitted the 
following proposed information collection to the Office of Management 
and Budget for review and clearance in accordance with the requirements 
of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3507).
    Title: Flood Mitigation Assistance--Flood Mitigation Plan.
    Type of Information Collection: Reinstatement, with change of a 
previously approved collection for which approval has expired.
    OMB Number: 3067-0271.
    Abstract: A State and communities must have a FEMA approved plan 
before awarding project grant assistance to a community or State 
applicant. The planning requirement is to encourage communities and 
States to evaluate the flood hazard in their jurisdiction and devise a 
feasible strategy to reduce the impacts of flood hazards.
    Affected Public: State, Local or Tribal Government.
    Number of Respondents: 616.
    Estimated Time per Respondent: Development of New Flood Mitigation 
Plans: 440 hours. Modify, refine Flood Mitigation Plans from Existing 
Plans: 40 hours. Update Existing Flood Mitigation Plans and Forward to 
the State: 200 hours. State Reviews, Evaluations, and Coordinating 
Flood Mitigation Plans and forward to FEMA for Approval: 40 hours.
    Estimated Total Annual Burden Hours: 116,624.
    Frequency of Response: On Occasion.

    Interested persons are invited to submit written comments on the
