Profiles of Older Workers — The Census Bureau, in partnership with 31 states, has launched a series of reports on workers 55 and older. Arkansas is the fifth state to be released in the series, followed by Hawaii. (Tentatively scheduled for release in late October.)
A Child’s Day: 2004 — This table package marks 10 years of data that examine the well-being of children and their daily activities. These 30 tables are based on the Survey of Income and Program Participation and examine everything from mealtime habits to academic experience. (Tentatively scheduled for release in early November.)
Economic
2006 Annual Survey of Manufactures — Contains national- and state-level statistics on employment and payroll, production workers and wages, plant hours, costs of materials, inventories, valued added by manufactures, value of industry shipments, total capital expenditures and more. (Scheduled for release on Nov. 6).
Facts for Features
American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month (November) — Presidents have signed proclamations to honor the nation’s 4.5 million American Indian and Alaska Natives each year at this time. This group is younger and has larger families than the national population. (Tentatively scheduled for release in late October.)
Holiday Season — The Census Bureau presents numerous facts and figures related to Christmas and other holidays this time of year, a time of gathering and celebrating with friends and family, gift-giving, and general cheer and rejoicing. Profile America and Al Día (Spanish) for October/November — Upcoming segments include “The Anniversary of the Internet” (Oct. 29) and “American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month” (Nov. 3). Data are from the Annual Social and Economic Supplement to the Current Population Survey.
