Evidence From Census 2000 About Earnings by Detailed Occupation for Men and Women — A special tabulation of the number and percentage of men and women in 505 civilian occupations nationwide, matched with median and average earnings data. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 23.)

Disability and American Families: 2000 — Information on disability prevalence in families at the national, regional and state levels, with data on family income, employment status of the family householder and poverty status of families with a member who has a disability. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 23.)

Ancestry 2000 — In addition to national-level results, this report lists the five largest ancestries at the regional and state levels and the single largest ancestry in each of the 10 largest U.S. cities. A thematic map illustrates the geographic distribution of the largest ancestry groups across all counties. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 23.)

 

Non-Census

Local Employment Dynamics: A Profile of Older Workers — These reports focus on older workers by industry, their age, job gains and losses, the industries in which they are concentrated, their job stability and earnings. (California, Missouri and New Mexico tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 16.)

Next Wave of Interviewing in Survey of Income and Program Participation — In June, interviewers will visit a national sample of randomly selected households to ask about program participation, health insurance coverage, employment, income and other topics. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 23.)

Facts for Features: Americans with Disabilities — Statistical information from the Census Bureau’s demographic subject areas about people with disabilities; release timed to coincide with the 14th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 23.)

Estimates of U.S. Population by Age, Sex, Race and Hispanic Origin: July 1, 2003 — National-level population estimates cross-tabulated by these demographic characteristics. Comparable estimates for 2002, 2001 and 2000. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 23.)

2003 American Housing Survey — Provides information on a variety of topics, including home ownership, characteristics of homes and their owners, housing costs, vacation homes, gated communities and residents’ views of their neighborhoods. National and regional-level data. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 30.)

Dynamics of Economic Well-Being: Labor Force Turnover, 1996-1999 — National report looks at the size, speed and direction of labor force turnover and its components, how monthly turnover varies and average turnover rates for major industry and occupation groups. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 30.)

Educational Attainment in the United States: 2003 — An annual report card on college and high school graduation rates at the national and state levels, with information by race and ethnicity. Based on the Current Population Survey. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of June 6.)

2003 Subcounty Population Estimates — Estimates of the population of cities, towns, villages and boroughs as of July 1, 2003. Includes rankings of cities with population of 100,000 or more and, within states, of cities with populations of 10,000 or more. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of June 6.)

 

Economic

2002 Economic Census: Advance Nonemployer Statistics — This is a preliminary, national-level look at more than 17 million firms with no paid employees. Information includes percentage of “mom-and-pop” firms in several industry sectors, number of establishments by industry and percentage of total businesses and receipts they constitute. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 16.)

2003 State Government Tax Collections — Tax collections by category, e.g., severance taxes, occupation and business licenses, individual income taxes, general sales taxes and property taxes; for the nation and states. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 16.)

2002 Public Education Finances — Internet tables on revenues, expenditures, debt and financial assets for public elementary and secondary school systems. Includes state rankings on revenues and expenditures per pupil. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of June 6.)

Profile America and Al Dia (Spanish) for June — Upcoming Profile America segments will include the first telephone booth (June 1) and the invention of the video cassette recorder (June 7). (Scheduled for release on May 27.)

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month — A collection of data links, story ideas and digital media tools for use in reporting and producing news features about Asians and Pacific Americans. The new page will feature tables on the Asian population and the native Hawaiian and other Pacific islander population in the United States. (Scheduled for release on May 17.)

Memorial Day 2004 — A collection of data links, story ideas and digital media tools for use in reporting and publishing news features about America’s veterans on the eve of Memorial Day. (Scheduled for release on May 20.)

Television

World War II Veterans VNR — A new analysis of Census Bureau data on America’s veterans will be released in a broadcast feature highlighting World War II veterans. Includes interviews with Census Bureau Director Louis Kincannon; World War II vets; and Maj. Gen. Christopher Cortez of the Marine Corps Recruiting Command. The VNR will be available for online preview and ordering via the Census Bureau home page <http://www.census.gov> or directly at <http://www.census.gov/pubinfo/www/multimedia/Memorial1004.html>.
