Is There a Gender Gap in Earnings? Evidence from Census 2000 About Earnings by Occupation — A special tabulation of the number and percentage of men and women in 505 civilian occupations nationwide, matched with median and average earnings data. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of April 11.)

Disability Status by Sex and Selected Characteristics: 2000 — Information on the work status and median earnings of workers with and without disabilities for the nation and each state by gender and selected age groups. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of April 11.)

Census Bureau to Test Handheld Computers in Northwest Queens, N.Y., and Southwest Georgia — The next phase of the 2004 Census Test, in preparation for the 2010 Census, begins April 24 in New York and Georgia. The Census Bureau will test the use of handheld computers, rather than paper and pencil, to collect information from residents in the test areas. (Tentatively scheduled for release April 11.)

 

Non-Census

County Population Estimates and Rankings: 2003 — Internet tables showing population estimates, rankings and components of change for the nation’s 3,141 counties since Census 2000 and up to July 1, 2003. (Scheduled for release on April 9.)

Facts for Features: Asian Pacific American Heritage Month — Statistical information from the Census Bureau’s demographic subject areas about the Asian and Pacific islander population whose heritage is celebrated in May. (Scheduled for release on April 19.)

Facts for Features: Older Americans Month — Data from the Census Bureau’s demographic subject areas about the 65-and-over population, which is recognized in May. (Scheduled for release on April 20.)

Facts for Features: Cinco de Mayo — Data from Census Bureau’s demographic and economic subject areas about one of America’s most popular Latino celebrations, Cinco de Mayo, which pays tribute to Mexico’s cultural heritage. (Scheduled for release on April 21.)

Facts for Features: Teacher Appreciation Week — Data from the Census Bureau’s demographic subject areas celebrating the nation’s educators. (Scheduled for release on April 22.)

Data Collection for Quarterly Consumer Expenditure Survey — In April, Census Bureau interviewers will contact a national sample of randomly selected households in a survey that measures what Americans spend on groceries, clothing, health care and housing. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of March 21.)

Dynamics of Economic Well-Being: Labor Force Turnover, 1996-1999 — A national report examines the size, speed and direction of labor force turnover and its components, how monthly turnover varies and the average turnover rates for major industry and occupation groups. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of April 11.)

Estimates of Puerto Rico Population by Age: July 1, 2003 — Estimated population by voting age (18 and over), elementary school ages (5 to 13) and those 65 and over. Includes numerical and percentage increases since Census 2000. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of April 11.)

Data Collection for American Housing Survey — Starting on April 26 and continuing for the next seven months, Census Bureau field representatives will visit selected housing units in 13 metropolitan areas. They will ask residents about the size, composition and condition of their homes, their financial and demographic characteristics and the livability of their neighborhoods. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of April 18.)

Facts for Features: Mother’s Day — Statistical information from the Census Bureau’s demographic and economic subject areas pertaining to Mother’s Day. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of April 25.)

Local Employment Dynamics (LED): A Profile of Older Workers in Iowa — This report highlights Iowa’s older workers by industry, including age, job gains and losses, concentrations of older workers, job stability and earnings. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of April 26.)

 

Economic

2002 Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey — State reports on light and heavy trucks, minivans and sports utility vehicles, issued on a flow basis and culminating in a U.S. summary this summer. Information on fuel efficiency, annual mileage, model year, primary range of operation, permanent equipment and other physical and operational characteristics. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of April 11.)

2002 Economic Census of Island Areas: Northern Mariana Islands — Detailed statistics on number of establishments, employees, shipments, revenue and payroll. This is the first use of NAICS codes in the census of island areas. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of April 25.)

Broadcast/Photo/Multimedia/Television

Profile America and Al Dia (Spanish) for April — Included in this month’s daily features are segments on the Voting Rights Milestones (April 8) and the 40th anniversary of the Ford Mustang (April 15). (Tentatively scheduled for release March 31.)
