The process for getting on a Federal Supply Schedule is the same for all applicants. Information about the process is available at www.gsa.gov/goschedules.
NOTE: To make it faster for businesses to apply for a schedule, the Federal Supply Service will start electronic processing in June 2004 with the IT Schedule and incrementally add other schedules.
The CCR was created to be the single repository of vendor data for the entire Department of Defense to avoid duplication and allow contractors to take responsibility for the accuracy of their own important business information by supplying it directly to the government through a single registration. The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.1102 states that prospective federal contractors need to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract or agreement. It is preferable to be registered prior to beginning the schedule process.
NOTE: A service-disabled veteran-owned small business would indicate its status as a small business and a service-disabled veteran owned business in the "Social-Economic Factors" section.
To be considered a Veteran you must have your DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) in order to prove your service in the Armed Forces. To be considered a Service Disabled Veteran you must have a letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), or your discharge paper from the branch of service you were in, stating that you have a service connected disability rating ranging from 0 to 100% disability.
According to Veterans Affairs, Public Law 106-50, the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act of 1999, does not require any minimum disability rating. A veteran with a zero percent-rating letter is eligible to self-represent as a Service Disabled Veteran for Federal contracting purposes.
