Newly Updated Radio Spectrum Frequency Allocations Chart Now Available (02-27-2004)

 

FCC Chairman Michael Powell and Acting Assistant Secretary of Commerce Michael Gallagher inspected the latest spectrum chart before their formal biannual planning and coordination meeting on Feb. 27. The new chart replaces a 1996 version and includes the implementation of agreements reached at World Radio Conferences in 1995, 1997 and 2000. The new chart reflects significant changes in the 30 to 300 GHz area in both terrestrial and satellite services. The chart does not, however, represent the introduction of new unlicensed technologies including ultrawideband and WiFi that have been overlaid among existing radio services.
