About Traffic Enforcement

The Traffic Enforcement (TE) sub-module provides information about the commercial motor vehicle (CMV) Traffic Enforcement Program. The data is summarized for three calendar years on all MCSAP traffic enforcements.

The traffic enforcement program is based on nineteen state or local traffic enforcement violations noted in conjunction with a roadside inspection.

The graph at the upper right shows that from 2005 to 2006 there was a slight increase in the amount of annual Traffic Enforcement activity and a reverse trend from 2006 to 2007. The lower graph demonstrates that the percentage of all Roadside Inspections (RIs) attributed to Traffic Enforcement has followed a similar trend for the last three years.
