We are no longer able to provide support for email, fax, phone and letter inquiries directed to Infoterra/USA. The Infoterra collection of library materials; books, journals, and country files will be housed within the EPA Headquarters Library collection to remain available for Headquarters Library visitors and through inter-library loan services.

UNEP-Infoterra/USA National Focal Point (NFP) and Regional Service Center (RSC) to North America, the Caribbean, and Mexico was founded in 1977 by an agreement between the United Nations Environmental Programme and the U.S. State Department. The Infoterra collection was funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a special collection within the U.S. Environmental Headquarters Library.

 

About UNEP-Infoterra

UNEP-Infoterra is an international environmental referral and research network made up of 177 countries coordinated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya. The U.S. National Focal Point for UNEP-Infoterra is located at the EPA Headquarters Library and is managed by the Office of Environmental Information. There is also a complete description of the UNEP-Infoterra worldwide network.

What can UNEP-Infoterra do for you?

The services offered by UNEP-Infoterra/USA include responding to requests from the international community for environmental information through document delivery, database searching, bibliographic products, purchasing information, and referrals to experts. Additionally, UNEP-Infoterra/USA will assist U.S. residents in identifying sources of international environmental information. 


UNEP-Infoterra Publications

Earthlink is a bi-monthly current awareness newsletter produced by UNEP-Infoterra/USA. EarthLink provides information on international environmental activities, publications and news of interest to EPA staff and other environmental professionals. 

Caribbean Currents is a newsletter edited by UNEP-Infoterra/USA in its capacity as the Regional Service Center (RSC) for UNEP-Infoterra National Focal Points (NFPs) in the English- and French-speaking Caribbean.

Spanish Language Publications and Sites

The Spanish Language Publications pages provide a listing of and links to publications available full-text online in Spanish on the U.S. EPA website. The site is organized by technical and non-technical information, and by subject within each of those categories for ease of searching. 


UNEP-Infoterra/USA Links to Further Resources

UNEP-Infoterra/USA staff have created a list of further resources which may be helpful in searching for difficult-to-locate information. Many of these links are to sources and entities outside of EPA. The links have been divided into subject areas for ease of searching.
