ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL JOEL I. KLEIN STATEMENT

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals today affirmed the convictions of former Archer Daniels Midland executives, Michael D. Andreas and Terrance S. Wilson. Joel I. Klein, Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Department's Antitrust Division issued the following statement:

"We are very pleased with the Court of Appeals' decision reaffirming that price fixing is a major criminal offense that merits significant punishment."
