First Medical Review Board Meeting Scheduled for August 31

On June 26 a Federal Register Notice was published to inform the public that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) would be providing an opportunity to observe and participate in Medical Review Board (MRB) deliberations about the possible revision and the development of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation medical standards, in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act.

The meeting will be held from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. on August 31, 2006 at DOT Headquarters, 400 7th Street SW, Washington, DC, Room 2230.

Interested parties who want to provide comment to the MRB will need to register at the meeting. Oral comment from 11 a.m.–noon with the MRB may be limited depending on how many persons wish to comment. Comments provided with the MRB present must directly address relevant medical and scientific issues on the MRB meeting agenda. The MRB will adjourn at 1 p.m.

In addition, the public can participate in a listening session with FMCSA which will be held from 2 p.m.–5 p.m. at the same location. Individuals who wish to provide comments at this session will need to register. Written comments for both the MRB meeting and the Public Listening Session with FMCSA will be accepted through September 15, 2006.
