Demographic

Profiles of Older Workers: Maine — The Census Bureau, in partnership with 31 states, has launched a series of reports on workers 55 and older. Maine is the second state to be released in the series. (Tentatively scheduled for release in late July.)

Estimates of County Population by Age, Sex, Race and Hispanic Origin: July 1, 2006 — How diverse is your county? County-level population estimates cross-tabulated by these demographics characteristics will provide the answer. (Tentatively scheduled for release in early August.)

2006 State and County Housing Unit Estimates — Flagler County, located along Florida’s Atlantic coast, has led the nation in housing gains the last two years. Updated estimates of the nation’s housing stock at the national, state and county levels for 2006 will show whether this pattern continues. (Tentatively scheduled for release in mid-August.)

2010 Census

New Census Advisory Committee Members — July 19 – Eight new advisory members have been selected to serve on the Census Bureau’s Race and Ethnic Advisory Committees. The members will advise the Census Bureau on the American Community Survey and ways to achieve a more accurate count of their communities in the 2010 Census. <http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/releases/>.
