Decennial Surveys

Financing the Future: 2001–2002 — The number of dollars going to scholars is the focus of these tabulations. They provide data on the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of college students and the costs and financing associated with their schooling during the 2001-2002 academic year. (Tentatively scheduled for release late-July.)

2005 American Housing Survey National Public Use Microdata File — These microdata enable users to generate their own tabulations on a wide range of housing topics, e.g., housing costs, the frequency of repairs made and satisfaction with neighborhood. The file consists of individual responses to the survey, with identifying information removed. (Tentatively scheduled for release mid-July.)

Custodial Mothers and Fathers and Their Child Support: 2003 — This report shows national-level 10-year trends of child-support income received by parents for children whose other parent lives elsewhere. It also examines other types of support received for the children, such as health insurance and noncash assistance. (Tentatively scheduled for release late-July.)

Current Population Survey Data Collection Announcement — In August, Census Bureau field representatives will visit approximately 100,000 randomly selected households nationwide for the Current Population Survey’s update of employment data. (Tentatively scheduled for release late-July.)

Estimates and Projections

State and County Population Estimates by Age, Sex, Race and Hispanic Origin: July 1, 2005 — Last year, Texas joined three other states and the District of Columbia in having a majority of its population consisting of minorities. Demographic shifts are likely to continue when population estimates are released by characteristics for the nation’s states and 3,141 counties. (Tentatively scheduled for release late-July.)

(Tentatively scheduled for release mid-July.)

Nonemployer Statistics: 2004 — Summarizes the number of establishments and sales or receipts of businesses without paid employees that are subject to federal income tax. Most nonemployers are small unincorporated businesses, which may or may not be the owner’s principal source of income. (Tentatively scheduled for release late-July.)
