Commerce Secretary Evans Statement on the Council of Economic Advisors' Report

Washington, DC - Thanks to President Bush's tax cut, 800,000 more jobs will be created than otherwise would have been. Now, Congress has the chance to boost job creation even more by passing the President's economic security legislation. Let us hope the Senate leadership reconsiders and seizes this opportunity--America's laid-off workers are counting on it.
