GSA Calls for Applicants for 2006 Real Property Innovation AwardGSA # 10253 July 21, 2006 Washington, DC – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) seeks entries from individual federal employees and teams for the 10th Annual GSA Achievement Award for Real Property Innovation, which focuses on asset management and sustainability, GSA announced today. “GSA’s real property awards support the President’s Management Agenda, which includes federal asset management as one initiative,” said GSA Administrator Lurita Doan. “Sharing your proven strategies, new approaches and creative ideas in real property asset management and sustainability will enhance the stewardship of federal real property.” Winners in both categories will be selected by an independent jury of government and industry experts. Individual winners receive $5,000. Teams receive $10,000. Entries are due Monday, July 31, 2006. The Call for Entries and an electronic entry form are available at: http://www.gsa.gov/realpropertyaward. GSA’s Office of Governmentwide Policy created and developed the annual Real Property Innovation Award in an effort to identify and communicate government-wide, leading-edge, real property management ideas. Over the years, the categories have included business practices, planning, customer service, information systems, performance measures and security. ### GSA is a centralized, federal procurement, property management, policy development and information provision agency, created by Congress to improve government efficiency and help federal agencies better serve the public. In this role, GSA acquires products and services on behalf of federal agencies; plays a key role in developing and implementing government-wide policies; provides services and solutions for the office operations of more than one million federal workers; and encourages a citizen-centric relationship with government by providing a single "point of entry" to the information and services citizens need in a timeframe they can appreciate. This allows citizens to receive accurate, timely and consistent answers and information, and helps federal agencies better respond to citizen inquiries. Index of News Releases
