GSA to Hold Public Meetings on Perimeter Security StudyGSA #9413 May 20, 1997
GSA's National Capital Region is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of perimeter security enhancements near federally-occupied buildings in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The study seeks to address concerns by federal agencies about the need for enhanced perimeter security in light of the 1995 bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City that killed 168 people. Over the past few months, GSA has met with various District officials, community representatives, businesses and industry representatives to explain GSA's review. Interested members of the public are urged to attend one of the two meetings this week: May 21 Time: 7:30 p.m. May 22 Time: 9:00 a.m.
