Disaster Debris Reduction Project - St Bernard Parish Louisiana

Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, St Bernard Parish and EPA are proceeding with plans to test the effectiveness of burning and/or grinding hurricane debris. The test was designed with EPA's Office of Research and Development. Burning and grinding of hurricane debris may speed up restoration efforts following disasters. Information collected from the test will assist the State of Louisiana, St Bernard Parish and EPA in determining additional measures to manage large quantities of debris.
