Secretary Gutierrez Expresses Commitment to Successful Transition

SAO PAULO, BRAZIL—U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez issued the following statement on the signing of the Executive Order on the Facilitation of a Presidential Transition:

“I applaud the President’s Executive Order on the Facilitation of a Presidential Transition. The Department of Commerce is committed to helping ensure that the incoming administration has the necessary tools and information to effectively serve the American people. We look forward to working with the incoming administration to facilitate a seamless and successful transition of government. The new administration will benefit from the outstanding career employees at the Department who work daily to fulfill Commerce’s key missions of promoting trade and commerce, protecting our nation’s environment and helping America’s workers and businesses compete in the global marketplace.”

Secretary Gutierrez is in Brazil to chair the U.S.-Brazil Commercial Dialogue Ministerial Meeting and co-chair the third meeting of the U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum.
