DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  The position is located with the Cotton Chemistry and Utilization Research Unit at the Southern Regional Research Center in New Orleans, LA.  The incumbent will conduct research to develop new chemistries and treatment systems for cotton to impart flame resistance and other desirable properties.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. in Organic, Textile, Fiber or Polymer Chemistry, or a closely related field is required.  Knowledge and experience with cotton textile processes and products are preferred.
