DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Engineering Research Unit, Grain Marketing and Production Research Center, Manhattan, Kansas. The incumbent will develop novel and economical devices for sorting grain based on selected attributes. Applications will include, but will not be limited to, detecting internal insect infestations and scab damage in wheat, and mycotoxins and mutants in corn.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Recent Ph.D. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Knowledge of computer hardware, signal processing, pattern recognition, and software development is desirable.
