Mission Statement

Created as a Committee of the Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firemen's Association, the Institute serves as an informal advisory panel of public safety leaders committed to reducing deaths and injuries to America's Emergency Responders. Members of the Institute, all highly influential and expert in their fields, are personally dedicated to the safety of the men and women who respond to emergencies on or along our nation's streets, roads and highways. Members of the Institute include trainers, writers, managers, government officials, technical experts and leaders who through their individual efforts and collective influence in the public safety world can bring meaningful change.

Marked and Seen New Video for Rear Apparatus Marking Now Running

NFPA 1901 requires rear marking on all NEW apparatus covered by the standard effective January 1, 2009. Many safety conscious fire departments, rescue squads and some law enforcement agencies have already retro-fitted existing vehicles to make them more visible from the rear. Respondersafety.com at NJ 'Move-Over' Law Press Conference

It was my pleasure as a member of the Emergency Response Safety Institute (ERSI)to represent Respondersafety.com at the press conference for the new New Jersey Move-Over Law. The ceremony was held at the NJ State Police "B" Troop Headquarters, which is located on the NJ Turnpike at Cranbury. A number of organizations which assisted in the creation of the new law were present at the ceremony. VA State Police Trooper Who Was Injured in a Struck-By Incident Receives High Honor

Virginia can boast some of the best law enforcement officers in the nation. Including the national 2008 Trooper of the Year. Trooper Justin Mahalik is the first member of Virginia State Police to ever receive this award.
