Secretary Chao spoke to 2,000 businesswomen from around the Mid-Atlantic region at the Conference on Women Entrepreneurship in the 21^st Century in Philadelphia on April 3. Noting small business women’s critical importance as drivers of our nation’s economic growth, Secretary Chao said: “Women-owned businesses are growing at twice the rate of all U.S. firms, employing over nine million workers and generating over $1 trillion in revenue.
