How to extract PDF images from the MUTCD for other uses:
- You must
download the PDF to your hard drive and open the file in the Adobe
Acrobat® Reader.
- Once you have opened
the PDF, click and hold on the text selection tool.
- While holding the button
move to the graphic selection tool (see below) and release the
button.
- Left-click and drag
a box around the portion of the PDF you would like to use as an image.
- While the box is around
your image, go to Edit > Copy (or use Ctrl-C).
- To place the image into
a Word document (.doc file) or a Powerpoint
presentation (.ppt), simply go to that program, place the cursor
where you would like the image, and go to Edit > Paste (or
use Ctrl-V).
- To place the image into
a website, you must have an
image editing program such as Adobe Photoshop, in which you would go to File >
New, then Edit > Paste (or use Ctrl-V), then save
as a .jpg or .gif.
