Gary Klein was appointed Associate Administrator of Office of Governmentwide Policy, effective October 17, 2008.

As Administrator for OGP, Klein directs an office that develops and evaluates policies for management of the federal government's internal operations. This covers the acquisition, management and disposal of products and services, internal management processes such as travel, and the use of information technology and electronic commerce. In addition, OGP has a policy-making role for information technology and accessibility, electronic government, smart cards, and other emerging technologies, real estate, personal property, and government travel and transportation.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Klein most recently served as Senior Vice President of Government, Legal and Regulatory Affairs for the Toy Industry Association in Washington, DC.   Prior to 2003, he served as Vice President, Government and Legal Affairs to the Consumer Electronics Association.

Mr. Klein received a law degree from The George Washington University and pursued postgraduate law study in corporate and international business transactions from Harvard Law School.
