U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE RELEASES DATA ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND E-COMMERCE MARKETS FOR U.S BUSINESSES
Report Highlights Market Opportunities in Brazil

The U.S. Department of Commerce today released an ExportIT report that highlights opportunities in Brazil for U.S. information technology, telecommunications, and e-commerce companies.

"Expanding trade is a top priority of this Administration. At the Department of Commerce we strive to give U.S. companies the tools they need to expand, create jobs and succeed," said Linda Conlin, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development. "Our ExportIT reports equip companies to find market opportunities with our trading partners."

The ExportIT reports are the latest in a series that analyze trends, key issues, and events in information technology, telecommunications, Internet, and e-commerce in other countries to help U.S. small and medium-sized businesses make educated decisions about entering overseas markets.

These reports also highlight market opportunities and provide suggested market entry strategies, including descriptions of U.S. Department of Commerce export assistance programs as well as a list of key contacts in the United States and in each country who can assist U.S. firms in exporting.

Department of Commerce international trade specialists and U.S. Commercial Service staff in each country conducted in-country market research and analysis by interviewing representatives of computer hardware, software, telecommunications equipment and services, and Internet companies, trade associations, industry analysts, and government officials.

The ExportIT reports are available online at: http://ExportIT.ita.doc.gov and http://telecom.ita.doc.gov

Reports on France, Germany, and Japan will be released in the near future. A report on China is also expected to be available later this year.
