Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration
Current and Frequently Requested Special Permits

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration is providing scanned copies in Acrobat PDF1 format of every current special permit (with date and signature) and, due to numerous inquires, several expired special permits. These special permits are official copies of the original documents which can be viewed and/or printed.

Note: You must know the special permit number(s) you wish to obtain before proceeding. The listing only contains the special permit number.

Please contact the PHMSA Office of Hazardous Materials Special Permits and Approvals by telephone ((202) 366-4535) or by email if you have questions concerning or problems viewing the special permits files.

* Special Note: All rulemakings, regulations and notices issued prior to February 15, 2005 refer to the previous Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA). Although RSPA is no longer an operating DOT agency, all rulemakings, regulations and notices issued by the agency continue to be valid.
