1970. IMPROVING AND ELIMINATING REGULATIONS

Priority: Other Significant

Legal Authority: 30 USC 811; 30 USC 957

CFR Citation: 30 CFR 1 to 199

Legal Deadline: None

Abstract: This rulemaking will revise text in the CFR to reduce burden or duplication, and to streamline requirements. MSHA have reviewed its current regulations and identified provisions that are outdated, redundant, unnecessary, or otherwise require change. MSHA will be making these changes through notice and comment rulemaking where necessary. We will also consider new regulations that reflect ``best practices'' in the mining industry. MSHA views this effort to be evolving and ongoing and will continue to accept recommendations from the public. MSHA published a final rule allowing the use of low-and medium voltage diesel-powered electrical generators as an alternative means of powering electrical equipment.
