EPA/NCER sees a unique opportunity to foster interdisciplinary research to scientifically characterize the links between changes in biodiversity and risks to human health. Research on the links between biodiversity and infectious disease can have an important impact on our view of biodiversity, the services provided by natural ecosystems, how we manage these resources, and how we may help reduce the incidence of disease.
