PHMSA uses the following electronic services to better serve our customers.  

Hazmat Enforcement
 
Make payment(s) on Enforcement Civil ($10,000 or less) and Ticket penalties;
Federal law and regulations require a wire transfer for amounts over $10,000
Payment Methods

PHMSA uses Pay.gov to make secure electronic payments for Hazmat Civil Fines and Penalties and FOIA requests. Payments can be made directly from your bank account or by credit/debit card.

For your convenience we accept any of the following major credit cards:

  • Master Card
  • Visa
  • American Express
  • Discover

Please note that Pay.gov is external to PHMSA and may have periodic service outages that are outside of our control.  In the event of a service outage, please check back often to access Pay.gov.

Electronic Check Policy

Due to the time required for ACH "Electronic Check" settlement processing there is usually a delay of one full business day (but sometimes two or three) for all purchases made via Electronic check. Orders placed using the "Electronic Check" payment service will not be processed until the settlement occurs.

Federal regulations require that your browser support 128-bit encryption to complete payment transactions at this web site. If you are an America Online user, you must have their browser version 5.0 or better to effectively use this site. If you use Netscape you must have their version 4.7 or better that includes the 128-bit upgrade. If you are using Internet Explorer you must have their version 5.0 or better.
