The Central Federal Lands Highway Division of the Federal Highway Administration in cooperation with the National Forest Service and Rio Blanco County is administering a construction project to remediate landslides on the Flattops Scenic Byway, Forest Highway 16 over Ripple Creek Pass. This project will consist of stabilizing slopes, installing drainage systems, and reconstructing roadways through slide areas.
A construction contract was awarded to American Civil Constructors, Inc. on November 20, 2007 for the contract amount of $1,859,495.00.

Construction Activities
Contractor is currently surveying the project, installing erosion control devices, installing underdrain and pipe culverts, removing aggregate surface, watering for dust control, performing slide excavation and stabilization with reinforcing grids.
